Goler Metropolitan hosting ‘Pink Sunday’

Special to The Chronicle

Vicki Miller, the reference and education librarian at Winston-Salem State University’s C.G. O’Kelly Library, will be the featured speaker at a Sunday, Oct. 28 luncheon for the Goler Metropolitan AME Zion Church Home Missions Society.

The event, which begins at 1 p.m., will focus on breast cancer, as October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the disease continues to be a threat to African American women especially.

Oct. 28 is being dubbed “Pink Sunday” at the church, which is located at 1435 East Fourth St., and is being described as an opportunity for friends and families to come together in fellowship, for breast health education and to support breast cancer survivors.

A “Pretty In Pink Fashion Show” will precede the luncheon at 12:15 p.m.

The luncheon cost is $10. Door prizes will be given. Rev. Johnny L. Ruff is the host pastor.

For more information or to reserve a ticket, contact the church office at 336-723-2325 or email  HYPERLINK “mailto:lriggs3@yahoo.com” lriggs3@yahoo.com.
