Members of the Rho Rho Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sororityb Inc., along with its Archonettes youth group, and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., with help from the youngsters of its Sigma Beta Club, were among the 150 volunteers who helped clean up Odd Fellows Cemetery on Monday morning in honor of Martin Luther King Day.
The Northwest Piedmont Service Corps has sponsored the annual clean up event on MLK Day at the historic black cemetery since 2010. At one point, Odd Fellows had fallen into such disrepair that tombstones were hidden from view by brush and leaves. Years of hard work has paid off. Much of the cemetery has been cleared.
