Winston-Salem’s own Norton Barnhill is one of six abstract artists whose work will be featured in “Abstractions,” which is scheduled to open on Feb. 8 and run through March 15 in the Eleanor and Egbert Davis Gallery at the Sawtooth School for Visual Art.

Barnill teaches painting at the Sawtooth School and his work has been featured in a one-man show at the Delta Arts Center. Other local and regional artists in the show include Marta Blades, Andrew Fansler, Alex Norwood, Mary Ann Prack and Zac Trainor.

A broad and diverse representation of abstract art concepts will be on display, ranging from oil on canvas to mixed-media sculptures using found and repurposed materials.

An artists’ reception is scheduled for Friday, March 1 from 5-7 p.m. in the Davis Gallery at the Sawtooth. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The exhibit and reception are free and open to the public.

Additional information about the Sawtooth School can be found online at www.sawtooth.org, or by calling 336-723-7395.
