Volunteers provide thousands in free dental services

Volunteers provide thousands in free dental services

High Point’s recent 4th annual Dentistry With Love event was a huge success, treating 72 patients and providing $29,373 in free dental services.

For eight hours on Feb. 8, a team of dental professionals, including Dr. Bertrand Bonnick, employees of Triad Oral Surgery and members of the Kappa Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc., provided cleanings, fillings and extractions to those most in need.

The annual charity event is a way for dentists in the Triad to give back to the community by offering free dental services to those who are unemployed or do not have public or private insurance.

The nearly $30,000 in free services provided this year was more than double the $12,000 in services provided at the 2012 event.
