Dr. James L.E. Hunt and the congregation of New Birth Worship Center (NBWC) will celebrate their 16th Church Anniversary and Mortgage Burning with a weekend of inspirational activities from May 17-19.

Under the theme “Experiencing the Glory of God,” the celebration will start on Friday at 6 p.m. when the church will launch its new Web site. An anniversary banquet will be held on Saturday at 6 p.m. in the Twin City Quarter. The guest speaker will be Rev. Reginald Hunt, pastor of Boone’s Cornerstone Summit. The celebration will continue on Sunday morning with a 10 a.m. message by Rev. William Conrad, a powerful man of God from Mooresville. A Mortgage Burning Service will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday. Bishop Michael Pitts, senior pastor of Cornerstone Church of Toledo, will speak.

Founded in 1996, NBWC has moved from a one-room place of worship to a glorious new 500-seat sanctuary with administrative offices, educational classrooms, nursery and children’s facilities and a spacious fellowship hall.

Since Pastor Hunt assumed leadership of the church in 2000, the focus of his ministry has been to “Empower, Encourage and Equip” the people of God through scriptures. The church family stands firmly on the Word of God taught by Pastor Hunt and have eagerly embraced the Christian lifestyle consistently demonstrated by their pastor. Members’ obedience to bringing their tithes and giving special offerings has resulted in their $1.2 million church mortgage being paid off in 12 years.
The church is located at 1013 Newbirth Drive in East Bend (off Highway 67). The public is welcome at all the events.
