Holiness Church Assembly starts Monday
The 96th General Assembly of the Holiness Church of God, Inc. will come together Monday, Sept. 30 through Sunday, Oct. 6 at Kimberly Park Holiness Church, 1640 S.M. Caesar Drive, where Elder Robert R. Edmond Jr., is the host pastor.
General Bishop Arnie H. Joyce will preside over the General Assembly. He will be assisted by Vice-Bishop Theodore R. Rice, Vice-Bishop James Ijames and the Elders Board of the Holiness Church of God.
“Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!” is the theme. Sept. 30’s opening session will include a gathering of the Elder Board at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Overseer Eugene Paramore will be featured at 7:30 p.m.
On Tuesday, Oct. 1, a 10:30 a.m. panel discussion will feature Ruling Elder Wardlow Frazier, Co-Pastor Minnie Terry, Pastor Jonathan Shuler, Evangelist Debra Alford, Evangelist Vanessa Duren-Winfield, Elder Anthony Bell, Minister Vickie Sumpter and Minister Irene Shell. At 12 p.m., Overseer Roy Alston will speak. Elder James Nobel will speak at 2 p.m., and at 7:30 p.m., Overseer Angeline Sumpter will be the speaker.
Meetings will be held throughout the day on Oct. 2. The 7:30 p.m. speaker will be Pastor Jonathan Shuler. The Oct. 3 speakers include Elder Anthony Blair (11:30 a.m.), Overseer Benjamin Brogdon Jr. (2 p.m.) and Vice-Bishop James Ijames (7:30 p.m.).
An Ordination Committee meeting (10 a.m.) will be among Oct. 4’s events. An awards ceremony will be held during the 7:30 p.m. service, where Vice-Bishop Theodore R. Rice will speak.
On Saturday, Oct, 5, there will be an Ordination Service and Altar Service beginning at 9:30 a.m. General Bishop Joyce will close the assembly with a message at 10 a.m. on Oct. 6.
