No Rules Theatre Co. (NRTC), which is partly based in Winston-Salem, will bring its hit production of “The No Rules Show” to the Hanesbrands Theatre, 209 Spruce St. N., for six nights, from April 22 – April 27 at 8 p.m.

Each night, a different Triad celebrity will take the stage with host Joshua Morgan for a crazy, madcap variety show. Morgan plans to rev up the antics with WXII-TV Chief Meteorologist Lanie Pope, Old Salem’s Ragan Folan, SECCA’s Mark Leach, Winston-Salem Symphony Concertmaster Corine Brouwer, The Arts Council’s James Sparrow, UNCSA Dean of Drama Carl Forsman, Triad Stage’s Preston Lane and Sweet Potatoes restaurant owners Stephanie Tyson and Vivian Joyner.

“In Washington, DC, I had been playing the piano as an underground cabaret for several years,” said Morgan, “but, the little cabaret became so popular, that we turned it into a true production. The show is a cross between “Jimmy Kimmel Live” and “The Judy Garland Show.” It’s a talk show and a true variety spectacular. What happens onstage is based on the guests we have each night. It can get pretty wild. This show is very much for adults, because you never know what will come out of people’s mouths or what they will do.”

Morgan graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts and studied at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts and Judith Blazer’s 2005/2007 company of the Artist’s Crossing. Since moving from New York City, Morgan has performed at Woolly Mammoth Theatre Co., Signature Theatre, Arena Stage, Theater J, Triad Stage, and others. As a director, he directed three sold-out productions of Hedwig and the Angry Inch in North Carolina and Washington, DC.

The show will be directed by No Rules’ Founding Co-Artistic Director Brian Sutow, a graduate of UNCSA and a professional actor and writer.
Opening Night tickets are $50; Single tickets are $31; Student tickets are $23; and

Preview tickets are $15. Tickets may be purchased at NoRulesTheatre.org or by calling 336-747-1414.
