National Grief Awareness Day is recognized on August 30, 2021. Now more than ever we should take the time to highlight the importance of this day. National Grief Awareness Day is dedicated to educating people about the many ways individuals cope with loss.
“Ageism from the Inside Out and the Outside In” will be presented virtually on Sept. 21 from 12-1:30 p.m. If we identify with youth and deny age, we are unaware of our ageism against ourselves and unknowingly support institutional ageism in our culture. Dr. Connie Zweig, bestselling author of “The Inner Work of Age: Shifting from Role to Soul,” shows us how to meet this “inner ageist,” which has profound consequences for our self-acceptance, health, and capacity to discover the treasures of late life.
A total of 391,415 registered voters (of nearly 7.2 million) have been removed from North Carolina rolls in this year’s “biennial voter registration list maintenance,” according to Democracy NC. In 2019, more than half a million voters’ names were removed. The process occurs in odd numbered years.
