I am always looking to try new things with the sports section, so when a friend of mine suggested I reach out to coaches to touch on issues in the sports world, I immediately jumped on the idea.
There was a lot of uncertainty with high school sports this season. Delays, rescheduling, and quarantining was commonplace for a lot of teams. Through it all, the Forsyth Country Day (FCD) athletic program battled through and finished the season with a total of five state championships.

Aaron Grier and the Lady Eagles varsity basketball team had a very successful season this year. After posting a 13-2 record, and an appearance in the second round of the playoffs, Grier is hoping to continue building a standard of excellence and a winning tradition for the girl’s basketball team at East Forsyth.
As the NBA regular season draws to a close, I like to think I have a clear idea of who will win the various NBA awards. This season was shortened by 10 games, but it was definitely a large enough sample size. Injuries and missed games played a major role with some of the contenders for these awards, but all in all, those who I think will win are fully deserving.
In a season that was totally unpredictable and unprecedented, the Spartans of Mount Tabor were crowned 3A Football State Champions after defeating Cleveland High School 24-16 to cap off an undefeated 11-0 season.
The League, sponsored by the Josh Howard Foundation, has made it’s return to the city. As the premiere adult men’s league in the Triad area, players and fans were eager to have the teams lace them up and start playing basketball again in The League.
